With regular practice, the drills will help students coordinate the visual patterns in the score with the muscle memory in the fingers.

Once these patterns are familiar and automatic, reading new music will become easier and more enjoyable.

There are three levels in the series:

 

 

 

 

 

The chart below illustrates the keys, intervals, elements and the approximate level of study for each of the Sight Reading Drill Books.

Exercises can be worked hands separately or hands together and repeated as many times as necessary.

Right hand and left hand have equal chance to play the quarter-note melodies while the accompaniment is limited to half-notes or whole notes and remains in a triad position.
